We are now in the injury time of the preparation for the new season and Nike knows just in time to present a few new kickers. In a short time they have launched the completely black 'Stealth Ops' pack and the 'Raised on Concrete' pack and that is now being followed up with 'Rising Fire'. It is a special pack for two reasons.
Firstly, it is a special pack because it only consists of two soccer cleats: the Mercurial and the new Phantom. No Hypervenom and Tiempo. That is not bad either, because the beauty of the two that are in this pack makes everything right. Secondly, it is particularly notable that the cleats are first launched by Nike in America and will come to Europe later in August.
We said that there are two soccer cleats in this pack, but that is actually three. From the Mercurial line, the high Superfly and the lower Vapor will get this horrifying red color with a number of silver-gray, white and orange details. The upper is almost completely red, so you're completely baked when the outfit of your club is also red.
And then we have the brand new PhantomVSN. The shoe that reminds us of the Total 90 since the release of a few weeks ago and that is once again the case in this color version. Will of course also have something to do with the white surface on the inside of the shoe and that now also looks very greasy. If you think now: do not they have laces? Yes, they are under the 'Ghost Lacing System'. More information about the PhantomVSN can be found here.
What a kick. Unfortunately, we will have to wait a bit longer before they go on sale in Europe, but once they have reached that point, they will be available here. Here you will also find other color versions of these cleats, such as the completely black versions.
Nike launch the PhantomVSN silo in a third colourway as the youngest member of the Swoosh family is dressed in rousing red design as part of the new "Rising Fire" pack.
Unlike the previous packs of which the PhantomVSN has been a part of, the "Rising Fire" collection features just the PhantomVSN and the Mercurial Superfly & Vapor 360 as Nike opt to leave the Hypervenom and Tiempo out. This move will no doubt spark further speculation that the Hypervenom is about to be replaced in the Nike line-up, as the Magista was by this silhouette we're looking at here.
For the time being the Nike "Rising Fire" collection will only be available in the United States, with the pack set to drop in Europe later in this month. All Nike athletes are expected to remain in the "Raised in Concrete" pack to kick off the new campaign in, but deep red design brings more identity to the PhantomVSN silo ahead of its debut season.
